Aberdeen Mayor Apologizes For Holding Up The Rightful Nomination Of Stephen Smith To The City Council – Mayor Explains He Was Misadvised By His Top Political Advisor Ex-Mayor Fred Simmons

The Mayor of Aberdeen,Maryland, Patrick McGrady,  finally decided to do the right thing concerning the empty Aberdeen council seat. After five months of delaying political reality and trying to hornswoggle the Aberdeen voters, McGrady admits he made a mistake.  McGrady stated that “If we would of had a citizen run-off election of course the only two qualified candidates would have been Mr. Smith and Mr. DeBonis.  The same holds true for a city council runoff. Clearly only Smith and DeBonis should be nominated and voted on. ”

Mayor McGrady pointed out also that he was misadvised by that “over-paid Annapolis lawyer we have as a   City Attorney” and he said that he would   immediately dismiss Mr. Sussman at the next town meeting.

Mayor McGrady  said his top political advisor , Fred Simmons, would also no longer be advising him. McGrady said Simmons advised him not to nominate Smith. McGrady…
