The Aberdeen-Churchville Republican Tea-Party: Mayor Patrick McGrady, Jason Kolligs and Dan Lambros.
The Aberdeen (Md) City Manager Hiring Commission comprised of two Tea Party Republicans,( Jason Kolligs and Dan Lambros) as well as Peter Dacey, Steven Johnson and Raymond Warfield chose Randy Robertson as Aberdeen’s new City Manager. Mr. Robertson was recently the City Manager of Cordova, Alaska.(Pop 2,037)
The Mayor highlighted Mr. Robertson’s career by suggesting he had a “superman resume” .The Mayor then emphasized his 30 year military career prior to his city manager experience.
Little was mentioned about his city manager experience which is what he is being hired for.
No mention was made of his getting a “lukewarm” evaluation in 2013 after one year and five months as city manager in Vestavia Hills, Alabama (pop. 34,000). Mr. Robertson resigned from Vestavia Hills after the evaluation and received a $153K payout.
No mention was made of Mr. Robertson first city manger job in Ashland, Alabama (pop 2,1037) where he resigned after nine months service.
Robertson was also city manager of Mt.Juliet,Tennesee (pop. 25,500) for four years and 4 months. And he has been city manager in Cordova, Alaska (pop. 2,239) for the last two years and 10 months.
Mt.Juliet residents were upset over his four years there because he raised taxes “in a city that had doubled its revenue in the previous 5 years” Other residents wanted to warn his next community Vestavaia Hills , but decided “They don’t need to know the circus is coming to town…they’ll find out soon enough” [Mt Juliet residents were apprehesive about alerting Vestavia Hills about Mr. Robertson poor management for fear that Mr. Robertson might return to Mt. Juliet]
